Official statement from YouTube.

To quote Five Nights at Fuckboy's…
It's almost as if they were doing it on purpose before and only did that to promote Google+. But Google would never do that… right?
I like the new comment system to be honest, I hope that doesn't change.

Jokes aside, I wonder if down voting can happen again so trolling will be easier to get rid of.
I don't even cared about Google+.
Heck, I don't even think anyone cares about Google+.

Youtube's layout not changing. You're funny man.
I wasn't even kidding, if all the things I hated about the google+ YouTube fiasco, the new comment wasn't one of them.
Shit, does this mean I can't change my name on the fly anymore? I liked doing that.
Oh well, G+ was annoying as balls and hopefully downvoting comes back.
It was so annoying with that google +

You must not be a mobile user, then. YouTube's mobile comment section was fantastic up until a few weeks ago when they basically screwed up everything. For example, if you want to read the replies to a comment, you'll have to go all the way down to the bottom of replies, because for some reason, the replies are ordered from newest to oldest. Now, this wouldn't be so bad, except that you can't scroll through individual comment chains anymore. Nope, you have to click "show more items," which only bring up like ten comments at a time, so you'll often have to click and scroll several times for longer comment chains. It's REALLY annoying to try to work with and I have absolutely no idea why they'd change the comment section like this. Maybe they were just trying to get people to switch to the app, I dunno.
As for the topic, I'm happy, although I'm a little peeved that I've already linked my YouTube account to my Google account. Oh well. At least it's fixed, right?

Not even the trolling for me it's the racism and general bigotry that usually stayed at the top because of the new system and not being able to hide it. Hell usually you saw racist or whatever shit having a bunch of upvotes even though normally it would he buried by the countering downvotes. I really hope that comes back I don't like downvotes that much but youtube needs them. Sure there'll be abuse and horrible stuff will still be seen but it's worth it to me
@robotnik
I use the app and the show more comment thing is still horribly broken on that. I hate it too it works on desktop but not mobile. Generally mobile youtube is missing lots of stuff like the ability to embed which being on kym is pretty important.
It's actually pretty nice having them separated now, hopefully the likes and dislike buttons both work. I'll continue using Google+ though. I think I actually like it now.
Judging from the comments below YouTube's message, there are several people who would prefer that YouTube and the Google+ comments remain integrated. Of course, these are comments from people who have signed up and used Google+ for commenting. I suspect that the number of people who will be happy over not being forced to use Google+ will be much higher than the number who aren't.
@Johnny
What makes it even worse is that, prior to the update, I considered the mobile YouTube comments to be even better than he desktop version, since you could navigate the replies much more easily. Oh, well. Hopefully Google will take notice and fix it, but this is Google we're talking about here, so it could take awhile.
As for embedding while using mobile, I just copy+paste the YouTube embed code from the KYM Guide to Textile, and then I replace the numbers and letters after "embed/" with whatever series of digits is present in the URL of the YouTube video I want to embed. Sure, it takes awhile, and it would certainly be easier if YouTube would give mobile users an option to directly embed videos, but it works.
