On August 4th, 2017, Reddit[1] user /u/London_Atlas posted an image of a urinal he saw in Orlando, Florida, that had a peculiar serial number "4u2pn2" attached to it. The post (shown below) amassed over 49,600 upvotes and 684 comments in six years.
Spread
The image macro became a recurring viral topic on Reddit, Facebook and X. For example, on January 24th, 2022, the Facebook[2] mem group ALLLLLLL the Memes posted the urinal serial number paired with the caption "somebody waited their whole life to write this serial number" (shown below, left), which amassed roughly 9 reactions and 3 shares in a year. On July 1st, 2023, X[3] user posted the same image paired with the overlay text "I don't know who assigned the serial number to this urinal but he could be my new best friend." The post (shown below, right) garnered over 72 likes and 7 retweets in two months.
