Afraid to Wear refers to a series of TikTok videos in which user show off various outfits that they're too self-conscious to wear in public typically set to a sound clip of the song "Another Day of Sun" from the musical La La Land.

Origin

On June 28th, TikTok user @Kay used the La La Land sound clip to showcase different outfits in attempt to create a new trend (shown below). The video gained over 505,800 likes and 9,300 shares in a week.

Spread

On June 28th, 2019, TikTok user @micahhisokk revealed several outfits that they are afraid of bullying (shown below, left). The video garnered over 248,600 likes and 6,100 shares in a week. Two days later, @mckennabates uploaded a video of outfits that reveal her heart monitor (shown below, center). The video accumulated over 436,500 likes and 4,300 shares in five days. On July 4th, @eric_montanez posted a typical iteration of the trend which received over 418,000 likes and 9,200 shares in a day (shown below, right).
