About

Angry Grandpa's "Oh Hell No" refers to a reaction clip and viral video of YouTuber Angry Grandpa screaming in anger when he learns that his son bought tickets to Philadelphia. Originating from a 2015 Angry Grandpa video, the clip gained virality as a caption meme format on TikTok in late 2024.

Origin

On January 1st, 2015, the YouTube[1] channel TheAngryGrandpaShow uploaded a video titled "ANGRY GRANDPA DESTROYS MICROWAVE!" In the video, the titular character, Charles "Angry Grandpa" Green, screams at his son, Michael "Pickleboy" Green, when he notifies him that he had already bought tickets to Philadelphia. Angry Grandpa, who assumed they would be driving, screams, "Oh hell no!" in anger. The video (shown below) garnered over 4.2 million views in 10 years.

I've already bought the tickets
- WHAT!?
- We're flying to Philadelphia.
- Oh hell no! Oh hell y'all! No! Oh hell no. Michael, no!

On December 5th, 2024, TikTok[2] user @agpmoods posted the clip with the caption, "me listening to my friend talk about some drama but it keeps getting worse." The post (shown below) received over 10.8 million views and 1.9 million likes in six months.

In the following months, the video and meme format spread on X / Twitter and Reddit, used both as a caption meme and a reaction.

For example, on February 13th, 2025, X[6] user @Tohneee posted an Invincible meme that garnered over 250 reposts and 5,100 likes in four months (shown below).
