Ay Bro Shawty Bad refers to Vine videos about two persons talking about woman at front of them, but she's actually a man, after that one of them was collapsed, and the other one was running away. The video was used by editing it in many situations.

Origin

The origin of the video was unknown due to Vine shutdown at October 2016 according to The Verge^[1], and the archive was no longer available in 2019^[2]. But on August 8th, 2013, YouTube^[3] user Vines For You reposted the video. The video received 4,460 views in 6 years (shown below).

Spread

The video didn't appear enough as a meme until 2019. For example on September 19th, 2019 Instagram^[4] user @pampam.mp4 uploaded the Super Mario edited video, the video received 23.517 views (shown below).

One year later, the video about it was getting popular in late of May 2020. For example on June 6th, 2020 Instagram^[5] user @pamcinema uploaded video by editing it was in Spongebob Squarepants Jellyfish Field. The video received 24,528 views (shown below). On the same day, it was reposted by "Short Fella Memes: V" Facebook^[6] Page and received more than 3,000 reactions and 2,700 shares.

The meme about it was spreaded on Facebook. For example on June 6th, 2020 Facebook^[7] user Fizh Turner uploaded the video by editing it two of them in the woods. The video received 95 reactions and 157 shares (shown below),

A few days later after Fizh's video, many Facebook users creating variation of it. For example on the next day, Facebook^[8] user Unkl Mitball uploaded the edited version by adding Korean creepypasta comic reference. The video received 346 reactions and 272 shares (shown below).
