On an episode of WWE SmackDown in 2007; World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali crushed a basketball with his hands to show how strong he was. In his reaction to that, Batista stated "Basketballs Don't Hold Grudges." The silly quote quickly became a meme on the WrestleCrap forums and has become one of the board's most beloved catchphrases. On an episode of RAW in 2009, when the WWE moved to Los Angeles after double booking an NBA Playoff game in Denver, Batista, in a Lakers Jersey, was shown holding a basketball. This was probably a reference to said quote.
