There is no one particular source for the recent Bicep trend, as the act of revealing what is typically referred to as a "sleeper build" is extremely prevalent on social media, including GymTok (TikTok's weightlifting and bodybuilding community).

An early example of a related post divorced from the current trend, posted on December 27th, 2022, by TikTok^[1] user @jeanclaud.lifts, demonstrates a similar concept, though the post itself did not gain much traction.

The so-called "Bicep Trend" on TikTok then gained traction and started appearing sometime in mid-to-late July 2026.

On July 22nd, 2026, TikTok^[2] user @av18a participated in the bicep trend, in which users flex their seemingly unassuming arms to reveal muscular "sleeper builds." The video, which serves as an early example, received over 47.5 million views and 8.7 million likes in nearly four weeks.
