Cat's Cradle consisted of a user named CPL a group of trolls pretending to be role players. The threads featured popular conspiracy theories and occult/paranormal themes.

The group would refer anyone new asking for an explanation to "read the archives". This would result in newcomers being more confused than before.

The first thread posted was on the 23rd of April 2015 when a person decided to post a thread saying "When did you realize you were dead?". The thread subject was "Death" and was accompanied by a picture of a skeleton with the message "WELCOME TO DIE!".

In the final thread it was revealed that CPL was joking and that Cat's Cradle was a theme for a book he was writing.
CPL never gave a title to the book he claimed to be writing, and a book was never released.

Often posters on /b/ will call role players "Cat's Cradlers."
Anons are sometimes accused of being CPL if they double-space their sentences.

Cat's Cradle is often refereed to as the greatest trolls on 8chan

Details:
The Cat's Cradle's main function was as a storage container for memories until the current "ice age" on the Earth was over and humans could return to life.
CPL appeared to be quite knowledgeable in many subjects such as mathematics, economics, history, language, religion, and the occult.
Earth is an "Ark" that has given birth to over 30,000 life forms.
CPL is immortal and trapped in his 30s.
Inverted Chevron stations are home to a 'portal' to the other side.
Creating religion is not a good idea in the Cat's Cradle.
The Cestui que Vie Act 1666 (18 & 19 Car 2 c 11) is an Act of the Parliament of England which was adopted by practically every government on the planet in some form or another. It is proof you are dead.
"Year Zero" is 2007

You should probably read the archives.
