On TikTok, users typically share their results alongside their original photo or a reaction video to the results, sometimes using TikTok filters or templates such as the CapCut template associated with the trend.

The trend began spreading widely on TikTok in early to mid-September 2026, with users uploading photos to the Star By Face site to find their celebrity "twin." The website then generates celebrity matches based on the uploaded image, allowing users to compare results and share them on social media.^[1]

The earliest known example of the site appearing on TikTok^[6] comes from a post by TikToker @kerrbearhugs on September 7th, 2026, with the user claiming that they didn't look like either of the celebrities, who were Lee Felix and Emma Heming. The post garnered nearly 2,300 likes and 470 comments in 11 days.

Spread

The trend continued growing in the following days and weeks as more TikTok users posted their results from the Star By Face website. It also spread to other social media platforms, such as Instagram.

For example, on September 16th, 2026, Instagram^[7] user @kimmi_rhoades posted their results from the trend, displaying Matthew Lillard and Liza Minnelli, garnering over 66,300 likes and 270 comments in two days.
