Cocacolastic refers to a viral animated video in which a kid misinterprets the word "fantastic" as a pun on the name of the soft drink Fanta, responding with "cocacolastic," a pun on "Coca-Cola." Posted in April 2022, the animated video vent viral and became a subject of lip sync videos and other memes in July that year.

Origin

On April 7th, 2022, YouTuber[1] Blenac Animations uploaded an animated 3D skit in which a kid misinterprets a stranger saying "fantastic" to him as a pun on the soft drink Fanta. The kid, seeing that the stranger is drinking a can of Coca-Cola, replies, "Cocacolastic." The video garnered over 38,000 views as of June 2022 and was later removed from YouTube.

On October 18th, 2022, YouTube[2] user NACH ANIMATIONS reuploaded the video, with the upload garnering over 490,000 views in two years (shown below).

On June 28th, 2022, TikTok[3] user @big._.president reposted a fragment of the skit to the platform, where it gained over 15.8 million views and 1.7 million likes in two years (shown below).

The upload was followed by lip sync parodies of the meme. On July 10th, 2022, TikTok[4] user @pinkshampoo posted a video that garnered over 1.1 million views and 157,000 likes in two years (shown below, left). On August 6th, 2022, TikToker[5] @1veiga posted a clip that received over 4.6 million views and 626.000 likes in two years (shown below, right).

The video also achieved recognition on YouTube, where it inspired more parodies. On July 4th, 2022, YouTube[6] user kitsubee posted a Roblox animation based on the skit that gained over 790,000 views in two years (shown below, left). On March 11th, 2023, YouTube[7] channel Marta and Rustam posted a skit that received over 6.9 million views in one year (shown below, right).
