Ewa Swoboda, also known as the Tattooed Polish Sprinter, is a Polish sprinter and runner who participated in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics representing Poland's women's track and field team. Swoboda notably has tattoos and brown hair that she typically sports in a ponytail. Swoboda largely garnered attention on Twitter / X for a viral video of her squatting before a race and correcting her salute for the camera. Some internet users thought that she looked like Abella Danger, the adult content star, and joked about Abella Danger being at the Olympics. After her virality, streamer IShowSpeed invited Swoboda to race him on stream and Swoboda reportedly accepted the invitation.

Ewa Swoboda was born on July 26th, 1997, in Żory, Poland, making her 27 years old at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.^[1] She began competing in international competitions when she was 17 years old.^[2] Swoboda competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics when she was 19.^[3]

On TikTok

Videos of Swoboda went viral on TikTok^[10][11] as early as 2022, predominantly posted by the account @worldathletics. For instance, on March 2nd, 2024, the TikTok^[12] page @worldathletics posted an edit of Swoboda competing at the 2024 World Indoor Championships, gaining over 5.6 million plays and 581,500 likes in five months (shown below).

Viral Video

Swoboda largely went viral during the 2024 Summer Olympics when a video of her squatting before a race and correcting her salute went viral on X. The video was originally posted by the X^[5] user @Arkd0s on August 2nd, 2024, gaining over 112,000 likes in five days (shown below).

As the clip spread, many internet users wondered why she corrected her salute. X^[6] user @bstrat515 offered an answer in a viral reply, shared on August 3rd, 2024, reading, "Saluting to the right is for military. She caught her mistake and then saluted from the left." The reply received over 49,000 likes in four days (shown below).

The video also went viral on TikTok^[9] in the following days.

Abella Danger Comparisons

On March 2nd, 2024, the TikTok^[12] page @worldathletics posted an edit of Swoboda competing at the 2024 World Indoor Championships, gaining over 5.6 million plays and 581,500 likes in five months. A top comment on the video read, "Why did she kinda look like abella danger at first," as in the adult content creator Abella Danger, receiving over 4,300 likes in five months.

On August 2nd, X^[7] user @EnzoOmOm quoted @Arkd0s's video, saying, "C’est Abella danger ?" (which translates to "that's Abella Danger?"), receiving over 15,000 likes in five days (shown below).

In the following days, more viral posts compared Swoboda to Abella Danger, like a tweet shared by X^[8] user @ayeejuju on August 4th, 2024, that said, "is that who I think it is??" receiving over 176,000 likes in three days (shown below).

IShowSpeed Race

On August 4th, 2024, a clip from an IShowSpeed stream started circulating in which the streamer watched an Ewa Swoboda TikTok^[12] and said that he could beat her in a sprinting race. The clip was shared by X^[13] user @Venek__ that same day, gaining over 3,500 likes in three days (shown below).

On August 6th, 2024, TikToker^[14] @memorialkamili posted a video of Ewa Swoboda responding to Speed's challenge. She called Speed "some YouTuber" and accepted his challenge, saying they should meet on August 24th to race. The TikTok received over 68,200 likes in a day.

Also on August 6th, TikToker @memorialkamili shared the video with English subtitles to his X^[15] account @MemorialKamili, receiving over 3,000 likes in a day (shown below).
