Starseeds or Star People are people who believe that they are descended from extraterrestrial lifeforms and can reawaken memories and experiences from their past lives on other planets and in other dimensions by meditating and connecting with their higher selves. The concept of starseeds was popularized in the 1976 book Gods of Aquarius by Brad Steiger. In 1997, Sheldan Nidle founded the Planetary Activation Organization, a community of starseeds that looks to spread awareness of starseeds and to "spread the message that we on Earth are to become Galactic Humans, and to activate humanity." The belief persisted through the 2000s, with several starseed influencers and content creators gaining significant followings and becoming the subjects of discourse and memes online.

History

In 1976, Brad Steiger published Gods of Aquarius: UFOs and the Transformation of Man.[1] The book largely consists of interviews and written accounts by people who claim to have encountered or experienced extraterrestrials, including some discussion of the theory of starseeds.

In 1997, Sheldan Nidle started the Planetary Activation Organization (PAO), a community of starseeds that looks to spread the starseed theory and teach starseeds how to awaken memories of their past lives on other planets and in other dimensions. Their website[2] offers webinars, books and other content about starseeds.

Reportedly, sci-fi author Philip K. Dick believed he was a starseed.[3]


What is the "PAO" Planetary Activation Organization? The Planetary Activation Organization, or PAO, exists to inform Starseeds and Lightworkers about our connection to the beings on other planets and the universe around us; and to prepare for a new consciousness-raising reality and eventual disclosure and first contact with the Galactic Federation. Who is Sheldan Nidle, Founder of the PAO? As a small boy, Sheldan Nidle was contacted by Sirian 5th-Dimensional beings from the Galactic Federation. He received much of his education aboard a Sirian mothership. At 14, he severed ties with them to pursue an interest in science. Years later, the Sirians contacted him again. His mission: to spread the message that we on Earth are to become Galactic Humans, and to activate humanity. In 1997, Sheldan founded the Planetary Activation Organization (PAO). Sheldan issued weekly updates and produced many Webinar lectures, all firmly based in Galactic teachings. His information was never channeled; instead, he received messages from the GF through an implant. For more than 20 years, he revealed almost everything we need to know about our history, present and Galactic future. Our Primary Audience: Starseeds/Lightworkers Definition: Though Earth-born, "starseeds" are evolved beings from another planet, star system or galaxy. Their mission is to help bring Planet Earth and her peoples into a Golden Age. What Happened to Sheldan Nidle? On March 17, 2011, Sheldan's health took a sudden downturn. As he sat at the computer, he was hit with a Direct Energy Weapon that caused marked personality changes, brain damage and, eventually, dementia. By September 2021 his health had deteriorated further and he entered a care facility, where he now lives. To keep the truth of PAO alive, my colleague, Miles Simons, and I continue to produce lively monthly Webinars and frequent newsletters. We interview captivating guests, among them Jared Rand, Laura Eisenhower, Ismael Perez, Pia Orleane and Cullen Smith, Dr. Joseph McNamara and Dr. Scott Werner. The term starseed outwardly seems very hippyish, but when you dissect the truth behind the energy signatures that we were each born into, then you would already know that our zodiac signs and, consequently, specific planetary influences already control what we look like, our qualities and faults, our life challenges and so much more. However, while these planetary influences may only subjugate ourselves within this current incarnation to apply to specific traits and qualities, they also show how we "came from the stars". Thus, the question still remains, "What solar system did our souls incarnate to before we came to Earth?" If you look at the number of people on this planet, the number keeps growing which means that new souls are incarnating every day as older souls depart. Where do these new souls come from and how "new" are they? Is it possible that some of these souls came from other star systems? Do you sense a certain frequency among starseeds that you might not sense in other people? Have you experienced repetitive numerical synchronicities such as 11:11, 12:34, 5:55, etc? Do you feel like Earth is not your "home"? Have you ever wondered if your soul is from another star system? Many of us have led previous lives from other star systems. While the empirical scientist will undoubtedly question this belief, they cannot disprove it, either. You "just know" it and no explanation is necessary. These are some of the thoughts that are locked into your cellular memory as you are beginnin to recall who you are, what your purpose is here and where you came from.

On January 31st, 2023, YouTuber[9] The Alchemist posted a video titled, "Are You a Starseed? – Starseeds Explained," garnering over 260,000 views in two years.

I Am Sophia (iamsophia_music)

I Am Sophia, aka iamsophia_music, is a musician and content creator with over 55,000 followers on Instagram. She began regularly posting about being an "alien in a human body" as early as April 17th, 2020, when she released her song "Being Human" under the name "Pretty Weird Blonde," teasing the song on Instagram[6] that day.

She leaned further into content and music about being a starseed throughout 2024 and 2025, resulting in several viral videos that feature her performing her music and using special effects to make her transition from alien to human.
