About

#Ruthkanda Forever or Ruthkanda Posting refers to a cliché often seen on Twitter / X, inspired by X user @AlexandraWLee's 2020 post claiming that her child crossed her arms and said "Ruthkanda Forever" after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg's death. In the following years, the original post was used in various memes as a phrasal template and copypasta with people changing certain parts of the quote. The trend of liberal-leaning Twitter users claiming that their children weigh in on political issues makes routine reappearances during American election cycles.

Origin

On September 18th, 2020, Twitter[1] / X user @AlexandraWLee posted, "Just told my 10yo daughter about #RGB. She had tears in her eyes. And then she did the Wakanda pose and said '#Ruthkanda forever' -- which is the sort of pop culture crossover that I can celebrate." The post gathered over 3,000 likes and 5,000 quote tweets in roughly four years (seen below).

The post was shared across the internet, with many readers expressing doubt that the anecdote was true. A parody of the post appeared on Reddit's /r/wokekids[2] on September 8th, 2022 (seen below, right), where it gathered over 1,000 upvotes in two years. Later that year, the Instagram[3] page @bradtroemel posted a comic showing Ginsberg, Chadwick Boseman (the actor who played Black Panter) and Donald Trump playing Quidditch in heaven (seen below, right).

My Kid Just Said

The June 27th post gathered over 69,000 likes in three days (seen below).
