Dad! There Is a Monster Under My Bed is an exploitable comic featuring a son who cries out that a "monster" is under his bed, leading his father to discover a Monster energy drink. Online, the comic inspired the creation of photoshopped edits typically featuring absurdist humor.

Origin

On May 17th, 2017, artist David T. Michaels posted a comic to Instagram[1] in which a son yells "Dad! There is a monster under my bed!" leading the father to discover a Monster energy drink can (shown below). Within seven months, the post gained over 28,100 likes.

On August 2nd, Redditor Piggu uploaded a recreation of comic featuring characters from Team Fortress 2 (shown below). Within four months, the post gained over 1,900 points (93% upvoted) on /r/tf2.[1] The same day, the Woken Memes Facebook page posted a photoshop combining the comic with the Powder That Makes You Say Yes meme (shown below, right).
