Officer Jaffe, also known as Dick Dastardly's Police Officer Disguise, refers to a memorable scene from the 2020 animated film Scoob! in which an attractive police officer is revealed to have been the main villain Dick Dastardly wearing a disguise. Online, the police officer has become a subject of hornyposting, while the GIF of Dick Dastardly removing the disguise has seen use in GIF captions.

Origin

On May 15th, 2020, the animated film Scoob! premiered.^[1] In one scene of the film, the Mystery Van is stopped by an attractive female police officer for speeding. After a short dialogue, officer Jaffe is revealed to have been the main villain Dick Dastardly wearing a disguise (GIF shown below).

Starting on May 16th, 2020, multiple viral posts about officer Jaffe and the scene in general appeared on Twitter. For example, on May 16th, 2020, Twitter^[2] user @SophNar0747 made a tweet that received over 200 retweets and 1,800 likes in one week (shown below, left). On the same day, Twitter^[3] user @rixor14 made a tweet that gained over 5,600 retweets and 44,400 likes in the same period (shown below, right).

On May 17th, 2020, Know Your Meme^[4] user Octavarium uploaded a GIF of Dick Dastardly removing his disguise, with the post gaining over 80 likes and 13,600 views in one week. Starting on May 18th, 2020, the GIF gained spread in GIF captions on iFunny.^[5] For example, on May 20th iFunny^[6] user Dwanye posted a Discord Child Grooming meme that received over 1,300 smiles in five days (shown below, left). On the same day, iFunny^[7] user Poap made another GIF caption that gained over 900 smiles in five days (shown below, right).

In addition to hornyposts and GIF captions, the character has also been a subject of fanart,^[8] while a two-panel image based on the scene has been used as a comparison format.^[9] On May 19th, 2020, Instagram^[10] user igotsilver posted an edit based on the scene which gained over 290,300 views and 73,800 likes in one week and received viral spread online in the following weeks.
