This meme started on the popular Pictionary-esque site iSketch.net. One user entered a room and asked the question "do you like The Hills?" The user was then immediately booted from the room by the notorious Shitler, with the message: Do you a faggot? The saying was then spammed on 4chan's /b/ and all over iSketch and garnered a small following. The limited number of people aware of DYAF probably helped it to achieve its' relative cult status among those who know, and keep it from being an overused meme that is not capable of producing lulz. Variations are numerous; any picture with questionable activities can become a DYAF, usually with the use of a thought bubble. The Burt Reynolds image macro is the original, however, and the most lulzy.
