Origin

On October 25th, 2006, YouTube^[1] channel @centershows uploaded a video of the live performance of the music "Menino de Papai" (English: "Daddy's Boy") by the band Garotôes do Forró. The video garnered 1.1 million views and 8,100 likes in 17 years (seen below).

A few years later, a sample of the music was then added to a Dancing Baby parody meme. The video was uploaded on YouTube^[2] by @drikaapaz on December 27th, 2009 (shown below).

Spread

Throughout the following decade, several parody videos featuring the audio were then posted on YouTube. For instance, on August 10th, 2015, YouTuber^[3] @NAHORADOFATOREAL2000 posted a video (seen below) with funny images matching the audio's tone, garnering 69,000 views and 1,200 likes in eight years.

TikTok Trend

On April 27th, 2023, TikToker^[4] @david.yzn posted a parody video (seen below, left) using the audio, receiving over 516,000 plays and 60,300 likes in three weeks. Another example was posted (seen below, right) by TikToker @anthxzykk^[5] showing a creepy version of the audio on May 1st, which garnered over 754,000 plays and 85,800 likes in two weeks.
