On March 26th, 2025, the Instagram^[1] pages @gbaby_inks and @skinart_collectors made a shared post showing off the tattoo they created for YouTuber and podcast host Ethan Klein. The tattoo depicted his wife and the mother of his three children, Hila Klein, alongside text that read, "The greatest thing a man can do for his children is to love their mother." The post gathered over 3,000 likes in two days.

The image of Hila Klein was reportedly taken from the photo used as the thumbnail for the March 17th, 2017, h3h3 YouTube^[2] video, "How We Met at a Holocaust Museum."

Ethan Klein discussed his tattoo on a March 26th stream of the H3 Podcast, responding to the question, "How did Hila react?" by saying, "She's shocked. I told her she'll like it in four weeks."^[3]

Several internet users posted about the tattoo shortly after it appeared online, with Redditor^[4] /u/Agile_Ad_3203 sharing it to the official H3H3 subreddit (/r/h3h3productions) on March 26th, 2025. The post gathered over 3,000 upvotes in a day. Several replies to the post saw H3 fans expressing their confusion over Ethan's decision to get a photorealistic tattoo of his wife without consulting her first.

Also on March 26th, Redditor^[5] /u/carapdon made a post on /r/h3h3productions explaining that the shading on Ethan's Hila tattoo was intentionally left dark to allow it to fade to a more natural shade in a few weeks. The Redditor also provided a mock-up of what the tattoo may look like after it fades, gathering over 1,700 upvotes in a day.

Other internet users were more critical of Ethan Klein, especially on Twitter / X. On March 27th, 2025, X^[7] user @Acid_Communist posted screenshots of Ethan Klein pureposting a TikTok critical of his decision to get a tattoo dedicated to his wife. The screenshots purportedly show him calling the TikToker a "bitch" and later deleting and replacing it to call her a "loser." According to the X user, the second post was also subsequently deleted after Klein failed to censor the team member who sent him the post.

Also on March 27th, Redditor^[9] /u/Intelligent-Fan-1192 posted an edit of Ethan Klein's tattoo to the subreddit /r/h3h3productions that shows a cream-filled donut. The post appears to be an innuendo that plays off of the text on the tattoo, which reads, "The greatest thing a man can do for his children is to love their mother."

Later on March 27th, 2025, X^[8] user @Timmay1kc posted an altered version of Ethan Klein's Hila tattoo, editing it to depict rival Twitch streamer Hasan Piker. The post gathered over 5,000 likes in a day.
