Eu Bem Que Te Avisei — Tu Empinou Ele Pei refers to a Brazilian dance trend that started on TikTok in March 2022 and in a short time gained popularity among creators in the Philippines after a secondary dance trend was posted on the platform in August of the same year.

Origin

The song “Eu Bem Que Te Avisei — Tu Empinou Ele Pei” is a collaboration by Mc Delux[1] and DJ ABDO[2] released on February 28th, 2022. The music describes a person being warned about DJ ABDO's reputation and still deciding to get involved with him. The official music video(see below) was uploaded on April 30th, 2022. It has received 17 million views on YouTube in only six months.

The song was popularized on TikTok with a dance trend created by @luanstreet[3] on March 22nd, 2022. The professional dancer's viral video reached 1.8 million views in seven months and inspired other Brazilian creators to post content with the music.

With a simplified version of the dance, the music has gained more than 509.000 videos tagged on TikTok[4] in seven months. Celebrities like Neymar (see below) and the influencer Virginia Fonseca[5] also posted videos doing the dance, which helped to spread the dance challenge.

On August 8th, 2022, the Philippine TikToker @daikiwiiiii[6] posted a video doing a new dance trend for the song “Eu Bem Que Te Avisei — Tu Empinou Ele Pei” that has similar moves as the original, with a major difference being the person turning their back to the camera and twerking when the chorus hits. The post (see below) has accumulated 6 million views and catapulted the music to Philippines creators. It surpassed the official sound in views on TikTok, with 708.000 videos tagged[7] on the platform in one month.
