On 10 May, in response to the unrest in Jerusalem, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad began firing rockets into Israel from the Gaza Strip, hitting multiple residences and a school. Israel retaliated with airstrikes inside Gaza, including airstrikes targeting multiple apartment buildings.
Since 10 May, at least 87 Palestinians have been killed, including eighteen children
