Overview
Daniel Caesar's "Mean to White People" Controversy refers to Canadian singer/ songwriter Daniel Caesar's Instagram Live rant in which he defends entrepreneur and influencer YesJulz[4] and asks why black people are "mean to white people."
Background
On March 9th, 2019, Easily Offended uploaded episode 24 which feature YesJulz defending her racist tweet and calling out Karen Civil and Scottie Beam. The episode accumulated 82,000 views and 500 likes and 1,900 dislikes in a week (shown below).
On March 11th, 2019, Twitter user @Fauxdeity[1] posted a screenshot of a tweet that YesJulz posted asking if she should wear a shirt that says "n*ggas ain't shit." @Fauxdeity commented "anyway @yesjulz is a white supremacist narc" which gained 300 retweets and 660 likes in a week (shown below). @Fauxdeity continued: "of course this overgrown racist idiot didn’t see how- given what happened with Emmett Till- a white woman “asking if she can wear a shirt that says “NIGGAS LIE a lot”.. IS NOT EVEN A QUESTION. that was a violent and direct white supremacist statement. period."
That day multiple people responded to the Easily Offended episode. KarenCivil[2] tweeted, "
YesJulz I’m not sure if you bumped your head before your interview. But I never spoke on you doing rolling loud. I could careless what opportunities are given to you because your blessings are not my blessings! I’ve been nothing but cordial to you" (shown below, left). The tweet gained 1,900 likes and 863 retweets in a week. @IamGMJohnson[3] also chimed in a tweeted, "we have seen Black men (and some Black women) allow these white women to line step and profit from a culture they eventually throw away.
Yes Julz deserves no platform. None of these white girl gimmicks deserve a piece of our culture Start protecting the culture and not the bag" (shown below, right). The tweet gained 400 retweets and 1,400 likes in a week.
On March 16th, Scottie Beam responded to YesJulz comments about her in a video uploaded to Twitter (shown below).

Notable Developments
On March 19th, 2019, YouTuber nointroduction1uploaded Daniel Caesar's Instagram Live titling it "Daniel Caesar Defends Culture Vulture YesJulz & Says Black People Need to Stop Being Victims" (shown below). The video has gained 70,000 views in two days.
Many twitter users responded negatively to the Live video. On March 20th, Twitter user Pete Sapardi uploaded a video of himself responding to Daniel Caesar's request to cancel him (shown below).
