Dress To Impress Creator "Gigi" Allegations refers to a series of allegations levelled against Gigi, the creator of the Roblox game Dress to Impress (DTI), by several X / Twitter users in late September 2024. The first set of allegations were made by X user @MrsSpongeys, which include allegations that Gigi planned to frame MrsSpongeys for rape if her game IT GIRL blew up, planned to falsely DMCA strike her game, and fat shamed her. Additionally, Gigi was accused of making racist comments and sending explicit images of people in Discord servers where minors were present and soliciting nudes from minors while she was also a minor. Gigi also allegedly doubted an employee's mental health struggles. Gigi, who is 17, released a statement covering the allegations shortly after they were made, apologizing for some, including the NSFW server and the way she handled her employee's mental health and denying the allegations of racism and soliciting nudes from minors.

MrsSpongeys Allegations

On September 30th, 2024, X^[1] user @MrsSpongeys, creator of the Dress To Impress-like Roblox game IT GIRL, posted a link to a Google Doc leveling allegations against Gigi, creator of Dress to Impress. The user also wrote the allegations as a thread. She writes:

a few days after IT GIRL released. However, a couple of her ex-developers have reached out to me in the past few days and told me some things she’s said about me and my game. According to her ex-developers, she allegedly has a group chat with her developers/friends where they have constantly spoken badly about my game, as well as myself. They weren’t just petty little comments -- there were some really vile things said, which is why I won’t let this go.

First, the user alleges that Gigi planned to frame her for rape if her game blew up. As evidence of this, she shares two screenshots of DMs from alleged DTI developers making the claim.

Second, the user claims that Gigi wanted to falsely DMCA strike IT GIRL for being a rip-off of DTI. She writes that she began developing her game a year ago and lists her actual alleged influences. Again, she shares censored DMs from DTI devs making the claims. Additionally, Spongeys claims that Gigi obtained a photo of her and fat shamed her.

Spongeys goes on to claim that Gigi did nothing to stop people hating her game. She reveals that Gigi sent her an apology after rumors that the Google Doc was being created reached her. She shares the apology message later in the thread.

The post garnered over 19,000 likes in two days.

Chowiru's Allegations

Later on September 30th, 2024, X^[2] user @Chowiru, an ex-employee of Gigi's, made a thread alleging that Gigi doubted their mental health struggles and suicide attempts when they tried to open up to her about it after being inactive for some time to deal with their mental health struggles. Allegedly, Gigi doubted Chowiru partially because Chowiru asked to be paid for their work the day they returned from the break. Chowiru shared Discord screenshots as evidence of this.

Peacherin0's Megathread

Later on September 30th, 2024, X^[3] user @Peacherin0 posted a megathread compiling a variety of allegations against Gigi, along with screenshots. The post includes further evidence of racist comments, fat-shaming comments and sharing nude images in servers with minors. The user ends the thread by writing:

Gigi's Response

On the night of September 30th, 2024, Gigi posted a Google Doc responding to the allegations to X,^[4] garnering over 5,400 likes in two days.

The statement begins with an apology, writing:

Before I say anything, I just want to genuinely apologize for any hurt I have caused and for the things I’ve said that have offended anyone. I never meant to offend or upset anyone, but I get that my words and actions have impacted people, and I’m really sorry for that. I’m learning, and I know I need to be more aware, especially with a big platform. I own that. I’m committed to being better moving forward.

Gigi writes that most of the evidence shared against was taken from when she was 14 and that she's 17 now. She writes that she's part of the LGBTQ+ community and not homophobic.

In response to the allegation that she planned to frame Spongeys for rape, she called the comment "vile and disgusting" and apologizes. She then denies fat shaming Sara, writing:

I want to make it very clear that at no point did I ever discuss her appearance or make comments about her body (I don’t even know what she looks like). No photos of her were ever shared, and I would never condone that kind of behavior. It’s hurtful to even have that accusation out there because I know how damaging that kind of talk can be, and I would never want to be part of something like that.

In response to allegations of her actions in NSFW Discord servers with minors present, she writes that she "made some terrible choices when [she] was 14" but denies ever being racist. She writes that "any 'racist' jokes I made were towards my own race/ethnicity which is still disgusting but I was also 14." Gigi denies buying or soliciting nudes from minors and further regrets starting an NSFW server as a minor.

On the allegations of denying Chowi's suicide attempts, Gigi writes:

I apologized to Chowi for how I handled his mental health concerns, explaining that I misunderstood due to language barriers and thought he was lying because he asked for payment immediately after returning. I regret not being more empathetic and supportive during such a sensitive moment. I also apologized for being too harsh in my critiques of his work, admitting that I should have been more constructive rather than critical. I mentioned that I kept him on the team even during his four-month absence when he didn’t have a computer, out of trust and respect. I also addressed the Dior bag situation. I never received the file and that the payment I made covered that scrapped item.

Finally, Gigi writes that many of the fatphobic screenshots were just her "joking around," but that it "still doesn’t make it right," promising to stop making those types of jokes.
