The presentation of La construcción del milagro refers to a concert that took place at Movistar Arena on October 6, 2025 that served as the presentation of La construcción del milagro (The Construction of the Miracle), a book by current president of Argentina Javier Milei in which he details the ways in which he carried the "most successful stabilization case in world history," and his political/economic roadmap.

Background

On September 20, 2025, Javier Milei announced on his X[1] and Instagram[2] accounts the presentation of his upcoming book, La construcción del milagro (English: The Construction of the Miracle ), to be published by Hojas del Sur, with a concert at the Movistar Arena stadium. As of October 7, 2025, the Instagram post has almost 32K likes, and more than 3K comments; and the X post has almost 2M views, more than 2.8K reposts, 15K likes and 350 bookmarks. Tickets to the concert were completely free of charge.

On October 5, 2025, the Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation Federico Sturzenegger posted a picture on X showing a rehearsal of La Banda Presidencial (English: The Presidential Band ), name of the group that will play at the concert.[3] Milei quote retweeted the post, writing:[4]

VENÍ PROBÁ LA BANDA… VLLC! (English: Come and test the band. Long live freedom, damn it!!)

As of October 7, 2025, Sturzenegger's post has 500 reposts, 3489 likes and 3,1M views; Milei's quote tweet has 1079 reposts, 8948 likes and 427K views.

La Banda Presidencial is a pun on both the fact that it is the literal music band integrated by the current President, and a reference to the presidential sash ( banda presidencial ), a cloth sash worn by presidents of many nations in the world, among them Argentina. Milei's remarks to ask and "test" the band may also be a reference to repeated declarations of the economic team daring several economic actors to challenge the exchange rate band.

Besides Milei, the members of La Banda Presidencial are:[5] Alberto “Bertie” Benegas Lynch (drums), Joaquín Benegas Lynch (guitar) and Marcelo Duclós (bass). Backing musicians are: Fernando Mezzina (keyboard) and Hernán Scarfó (guitar).

Concert

The concert took place as scheduled on October 6, 2025 at Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires City. It was mostly a set of covers and an original contrafactum. It had the following tracklist:[6]

  1. Panic Show by La Renga
  2. Demoliendo hoteles by Charly García
  3. Rock del gato by Ratones Paranoicos
  4. Blues del equipaje by La Mississippi
  5. No me arrepiento de este amor by Gilda (Attaque 77 arrangement)
  6. Dame el fuego de tu amor by Sandro
  7. Hava Nagila (traditional)
  8. Libre by Nino Bravo
  9. Yo soy un liberal, contrafactum of Tu vicio by Charlie García

Demoliendo hoteles

On virtue of being the first cover of the evening, reactions to Demoliendo hoteles were the most popular.

Lourdes Arrieta (former member of La Libertad Avanza), quote retweeted a video featuring this performance writing that the liberal project is dead.[7] Martín Dandach (president of the Neighbourhood Action Movement) called it "one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen".[9] As of October 7, this post has more than 6.5K reposts, and 33K likes.

Arrepentidos de Milei (a gimmick account on X which opposes the government) posted a clip of the performance while mentioning some of the recent controversies involving the Milei presidency,[8] which as of October 7, 2025 has more than 2.4K reposts and 10K likes. Another post on X by @sansiniestro called this performance worse than what happened to British Prime Minister Michael Callow in The National Anthem, a Black Mirror episode, which got 2K reposts and almost 27K likes in 24 hours.[10] Ma Wukong (nickname of a Spanish arquitect that lived some years in China) reposted the clip, and wrote that Argentina "officially became the first fourth-world country."[11]

Star Wars: The Last Jedi edit

After the performance of Dame el fuego de tu amor, a clip of Star Wars: The Last Jedi where Kylo Ren orders the forces or the First Order to fire on Luke Skywalker where Kylo was replaced with Cristina Fernández de Kircher, Armitage Hux is replaced with Axel Kicillof, and Milei himself replaced Luke Skywalker was played. AT-AT walkers display different news portals and channels which are against Milei.[12]

Journalists at the Todo Noticias set (a TV channel generally considered to not be confrontional with the government and notably missing from said clip) deemed the clip as "immature".[13]

Hava Nagila

The most notable performance of the set was Hava Nagila. Javier Milei is an outspoken supporter of Israel, and dedicated this performance to both the October 7 hostages and to Michelle Iman Schmukler, an influencer who had recently denounced an antisemitic attack.

Milei asks the public to sing with him, given that that "the left and those who hate freedom" would abhor this.

Most notable was the reaction of Esteban Trebucq, who was watching the concert while it was broadcasted on La Nación +, who was shocked and didn't spoke a word until 40 seconds passed. Neither did any of the people who were with him in the set. Trebucq in particular said that no one in the set ever saw anything like this.

Posts featuring Trebucq's reaction to the performance were posted at least twice on X, with thousands of reposts and likes. Gabriel Castro's post has 1837 reposts and 12K likes,[14] and TUGO News's post has 1787 reposts and 11K likes,[15] both as of October 7, 2025.

Online Reactions

The concert generated many reactions. Ricardo López Murphy (National Deputy) asked the president to stop fooling around.[16]

Even among X users known to be supportive of Milei's policies it was considered that this may have been divisive. Pregonero wrote that the government should not try and push their luck, because it can go wrong; this post got 124 reposts and 2134 likes in 24 hours.[17] A post by a X user known as "Osvaldo 'Beto' Mendeleiev" (named after a character from Peter Capusotto y sus videos ) jokingly asked Minister of Economy Luis Caputo to grab Scott Bessent's phone and make the money transfer before Bessent sees the concert, getting more than 100 reposts and 2.2K likes in less than 24 hours.[18] Ron (@monstruogigante) reposted an old meme saying that Milei has a stammer, which got almost 1K reposts and 13K likes in less than 24 hours;[19] another post was made saying that his concert contradicts the "let's make the sacrifices we've made these last two years worth it" argument for the upcoming elections, which got 185 reposts and more than 2.5K likes.[20]

A meme referencing the episode Brother's Little Helper from The Simpsons received more than 600 reposts and 5.8K likes in less than 24 hours.

On October 7, 2025, MeidasTouch co-founder Brett Meiselas quote retweeted a video of Milei singing Rock del gato and wrote "can we get our $20 billion back",[31] which got almost 7K reposts, more than 70K likes and almost 2M views in 16 hours.
