Every Woman I Know / Every Man I Know refers to a snowclone riffing on a tweet which which compares the intense amount of hard work women put into themselves as oppose to the little work men put into themselves. Though the original tweet was meant sincerely, many of the parodies used the format for absurd punchlines while others complained jokes mocking men in that ilk were tired.

Origin

On May 1st, author and comedian Lane Moore^[1] tweeted a joke about how every woman she knew was putting a tremendous amount of work into their appearance and their self, while men had transitioned out of using 3-in-1 shampoo/body wash. The tweet gained over 820 retweets and 5,700 likes (shown below).

Spread

After Moore's tweet, some Twitter users began to make similar jokes. User @prophethusband made such a joke that gained over 130 retweets and 1,700 likes (shown below, left). User @hellenkeniford tweeted a joke that gained over 80 likes (shown below, right).

Though some of the tweets reiterated the original's point about men putting in less effort than women, many examples of the meme parodied the format itself with absurd punchlines. For example, user @woodmasterfresh tweeted the lyrics to We Didn't Start the Fire, gaining over 130 likes (shown below, left). User @extranapkins joked about the format by setting it in an absurd situation, gaining over 50 retweets and 500 likes (shown below, right).

Others critiqued the original tweet. User @asunflowerpose tweeted a joke making a point that the entire tweet was incorrect (shown below, left). User @DIY_Skeleton stated that the kind of joke the original tweet made was tiring (shown below, right). Jokes were covered by Daily Dot.^[2]
