About
Evil Jordan Intro refers to memes and discourse about the intro for the Playboi Carti song "EVIL J0RDAN" as it appears on his 2025 album I AM MUSIC, in contrast to the intro on the unreleased version of the song. The new intro garnered both praise and criticism online, with some critics sharing the opinion that the new intro seems like it was made to appeal to TikTok users and specifically making fun of an added gunshot sound effect.
Origin
In January 2024, Playboi Carti's then-unreleased song "EVIL J0RDAN" was leaked online.[1] The intro to the song consists of a repeated tone.
On March 14th, 2025, "EVIL J0RDAN" was officially released as a track on his album I AM MUSIC. The song features an extended intro that builds up to The Weeknd singing, "Begging on her knees to be popular," a sample from his 2023 song “Popular,” before transitioning to the tone, which is then interrupted by a gunshot sound effect.[2]

The new intro inspired discourse and memes online in March 2025. For example, on March 15th, 2025, TikToker[3] @orthoscope_prince posted a video suggesting that the new intro sounds like it was made for transition trends on TikTok, garnering over 2.4 million views in two days.

On March 16th, X[4] user @flackospalace reposted a meme in which the intro to the song has been set to Minecraft animation footage, captioned, "How carti felt making this intro," garnering over 54,000 likes in a day.

On the same day, TikToker[5] @johncastro9 posted a video playing the original intro, claiming it's better, garnering over 1.2 million views in a day. Later that day, u/MoreAvatarsForMe made a post to /r/CartiCulture[6] sharing the "Freedom of Speech" meme, titled, "The new intro on Evil Jordan is hard af," garnering over 630 upvotes in under 24 hours.
