Playboi Carti's "Kid Cudi" refers to the rap song "Pissy Pamper" by Young Nudy and Pi'erre Bourne featuring Playboi Carti. A snippet of the song containing Playboi Carti's feature, leaked in March 2019, gained significant popularity in video edits on Instagram, also spreading to Twitter and TikTok.
Origin
On March 9th, 2019, an unknown Instagram user leaked a 12-second snippet from the then-unnamed song during his Instagram Live broadcast. The snippet featured American rapper Playboi Carti singing about rapper Kid Cudi, with his voice resembling that of a toddler or a baby. On the same day, the recording has been shared by multiple Instagram accounts, also being posted on Reddit[1] and YouTube[2] (upload shown below).
Spread
On March 13th, 2019, the two-minute remastered version of the snippet was uploaded by YouTube user cryingwolf, with the video gaining over 1.4 million views in three weeks (video removed due to copyright notice).[3]
In the weeks following the leak, the snippet and its remastered version gained a significant presence in memes, primarily on Instagram and Twitter. For example, on April 8th, 2019, Twitter user @uzidorr created a Phrog edit featuring the snippet.[4] An April 11th, 2019, repost of the edit by Twitter user @bloutgoggles gained over 6,400 retweets and 16,200 likes in three weeks (shown below).[5]

On April 18th, 2019, a full version of the song "Pissy Pamper" by Atlanta rapper Young Nudi and producer Pi'erre Bourne was leaked. The previously leaked snippet was revealed to be the Playboi Carti's feature in the song.[6][7]

In the following weeks, more memes featuring and referencing the song appeared on Instagram, Reddit and Twitter, particularly in Phrog edits. Additionally, the song gained a significant presence in videos on TikTok.
As of June 17th, 2019, the song had not officially been released.
