The Fallen Electric Pole Art Trend is a pareidolia redraw trend in which artists draw over a photo of a fallen utility pole or power line pole that arguably resembles a large person with their back turned, wielding a staff or weapon. The image was first posted online as early as December 2024 and became the subject of artwork throughout January 2025 on sites including TikTok, Twitter / X and Reddit.

Origin

On December 27th, 2024, Facebook[1] user Khoa Hoàng posted a photograph of a fallen utility pole next to an original piece of art depicting their OC character in place of the pole, meant to show how the pole resembles a person standing and holding a weapon, garnering over 1,000 reactions in two months. It is unclear where the unedited image of the fallen pole was sourced from.

Spread

The trend began to spread that month, becoming increasingly popularized in January 2025. On December 27th, 2024, Facebook[2] user Anonymous participant posted a version of the trend that gained over 380 reactions in two months.

On January 28th, 2025, TikToker[3] @kimliana12 posted a slideshow starting with the photo, followed by sketches of a woman resembling the pole, garnering over 2.5 million views in a month.

On January 29th, TikToker[4] @sidwa24 posted a redraw of the photograph that garnered over 12.5 million views in a month.

On January 30th, 2025, X[5] user @sosakuneta posted the original photo next to a piece of their own redraw of the photo, garnering over 207,000 likes in a month. The tweet was screenshotted and posted to /r/Pareidolia[6] that day, garnering over 1,300 upvotes in the same span of time.

On January 31st, TikToker[7] @yogahya posted a twist on the trend by drawing the man in the truck seen in the photo of the fallen power pole, garnering over 5.7 million views in a month.

On February 6th, 2025, X[8] user @icemarv14 posted a redraw of the photo, which was reposted to the subreddit /r/19684[9] that day, garnering over 301,000 likes on the former and 2,200 upvotes on the latter in three weeks.
