About

The Foopahh Trend or TikTok Flashing Trend, also known as the Foopahh Challenge, is a TikTok trend in which women, mostly OnlyFans models, quickly flash their breasts in the background of a video, often by briefly showing their breast from behind a door, obscuring them enough to get past TikTok's auto-moderation. The trend is named after TikToker Foopahh, who popularized it in February 2023, inspiring other TikTokers to follow it.

Origin

On January 10th, 2023, TikToker[1] @oopsfoopahhhh posted a video in which she dances to a song. During the video, her breasts are exposed but obscured behind her long hair (censored screenshot shown below). She continued to post videos like this over the course of the month, all remaining on the platform despite breaking the terms of service a month later. In February 2023, the TikToker then began posting similar content to the account @foopahh, where she would quickly flash a breast or both breasts in the darkness of a closet, from far away in the reflection of a mirror, around the corner of a door, etc. On February 11th, she uploaded a video to TikTok where her shirt is lifted in the reflection of a mirror, garnering over 447,000 views in six days. That same day, she uploaded a video of an extreme closeup of her nipple to the point where it's blurry and hardly recognizable, garnering over 2.3 million views in six days.

Spread

The trend spread across TikTok over the course of February, with TikTokers including @angelbabeannie, @jinkiesitsgii and @willowmexo777 participating in it. As the trend spread, some users posted videos expressing shock about it being allowed to exist on the platform. On February 12th, the /r/TikTokFlashing[6] subreddit was opened to share videos from the trend. On February 15th, 2023, TikToker[2] @sarahsigher posted a video captioned, "ain't no way y'all are flashing on tiktok," garnering over 800,000 views in two days (shown below, left). On February 16th, TikToker[3] @lunathegh0st posted a video about the trend that garnered over 387,000 views in a day (shown below, right).

On February 17th, Twitter[5] user @islamoon98, an OnlyFans model, posted, "How does everyone feel about the 'foopah' trend on tiktok? 🤔 those who know…" Another OnlyFans model, Twitter user @StephOshiri, responded, "Bad look for us + no doubt will eventually have an impact on our community when harsher guidelines/ violations are enforced. Next two weeks I’d expect to see a lot of accounts being banned or an update to guidelines 🤷🏻‍♀️." The post gained over 100 likes in under a day.
