#ForTheThrone Quest refers to a worldwide quest launched by HBO, participants of which are tasked to discover and claim six full-scale replicas of the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones fantasy television series hidden somewhere on Earth.

Origin

On March 18th, 2019, HBO announced the launch of #FortTheThrone quest^[1] on Game of Thrones social media accounts.^[2][3] The quest invited willing participants to locate one (or more) out of six replicas of the Iron Throne from the Game of Thrones series and "claim" them, supposedly by being the first to provide proof of discovering their location.

On March 18, 2019, three hour-long YouTube vidoes of the first throne replica, dubbed Throne of the Forest, was revealed, with a total of 15 days provided to discover its location using the available clues.^[1]

Several notable outlets reported on the launch of the quest, including articles by Bleeding Cool,^[4] BGR^[5] and io9.^[6]

As of March 19th, 2019, the location of the first throne had not been discovered.
