Despite the claims, many have argued that Scotti does not appear overweight or to have significantly gained weight, leading some to suggest that the claims about her weight gain are from incels and trolls trying to bait people. One common joke relating to Scotti and her supposed weight gain claims that she got fat from eating too much pasta.

Origin

On July 18th, 2025, X^[1] user @Anarseldain posted, "GIO SCOTTI IS FAT NOW. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA," garnering over 1,800 likes in three months. In a comment, the user wrote, "You all deserve it for putting this tattooed e-prostitute on my timeline for all these years. You were a mark. You fell for it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA." This is the earliest known post to claim that Scotti has gotten fat.

At the time of the post, Scotti had recently posted photos to Instagram,^[2] although it does not appear as if she had put on a significant amount of weight as opposed to her previous posts.

The viral debates and discourse continued over the following months in the latter half of 2025, mostly taking place on X / Twitter.

On September 11th, 2025, X^[3] user @xbtUncleH posted a compilation video of Gio Scotti clips, writing, "It’s 9/11 and Gio Scotti is built like a literal 45 year old manatee while Charlie Kirk is dead. At least we aren’t speaking German," garnering over 5,600 likes in a month.

On September 13th, X^[4] user @florencecel made a post defending Scotti, writing, "You guys are crazy for saying Gio Scotti is fat. Like hello what" and sharing a recent photo of her posing, garnering over 200 likes in a month.

On September 30th, X^[5] user @UncleHRemilio posted a photo of Scotti, writing, "Look at her wrists holy fuck 🤢🤮," with some interpreting this post as implying that her wrists are fat, garnering over 2,900 likes in a day.

On October 1st, 2025, X^[6] user @ posted a photograph of model Blanca Soler, writing, "Spanish Gio is still skinny another victory for Falangism" (a political ideology of three parties in Spain that were known as the "Falange"), garnering over 4,000 likes in a day.
