Girl Interrupting Apple Dance Video refers to a viral video of TikToker Kelly Heyer, the creator of the Apple Dance, dancing to "Apple" at a New York City Charli XCX brat concert, a part of the Sweat Tour, in September 2024, during which she's interrupted by a fan who dances along with her unprompted. The video was originally posted to TikTok by Heyer and was quickly reposted to Twitter / X by user senorita awesome (@qxytocin), who criticized the fan, saying, "I really hope that girl knew her because why would you interrupt her moment like that…" Viral discourse ensued on X about the video, much of which turned toxic as people fat-shamed the girl and mocked her. Many tried to justify the girl's interruption, speculating that she was likely intoxicated. Overall, many thought the other girl was cringe.

On September 23rd, 2024, TikToker[1] Kelly Heyer (@kelley.heyer) posted a video of herself doing her viral Apple Dance at a Charli XCX Sweat Tour concert in New York City. She's seen wearing a black tank top, black boots and a black mini-skirt with "brat" written on the back, performing in front of an audience. Midway through the video, a fan approaches and dances along with her, touching her repeatedly, seemingly excited. The fan is seen with curly hair, red bra straps and a shirt reading "365 PARTY GIRL." In two days, the video received roughly 3.7 million plays and 469,200 likes (shown below).

In the TikTok[1] video's comment section, top comments criticized the fan who interrupted Heyer. One read, "the way my mood changed immediately." Another read, "Idc how excited she was constantly touching & grabbing at a stranger like that when you are being ignored is unacceptable." Another joked, Mama a girl behind you" (shown below).
Later on September 23rd, X[2] user @goldencompass13 reposted the video, receiving over 33.8 million views and 53,000 likes in two days.
Reactions to the video were similar to those on TikTok. For instance, on September 23rd, X[3] user @qxytocin used the video, writing, "i really hope that girl knew her because why would you interrupt her moment like that…" gaining over 133,000 likes in two days (shown below).
On September 24th, X[4] user @55mmbae remarked, "That tweet about parents needing to tell their kids when they’re being annoying >>>" implying that the other girl was not raised properly, receiving over 53,000 likes in a day (shown below).
During the same timeframe, others started challenging the people who were criticizing and mocking the fan. For instance, on September 24th, X[5] user @desivirgil tweeted, "I think you’re all having a massive overreaction to a girl who’s probably rolling for the first time in her life," receiving over 36,000 likes in a day (shown below).
On September 25th, X[6] user @prezoh posted a screenshot of a viral tweet[7] that read, "Of course it’s some fat bitch…" writing, "no hate to gay people but some of yall need to kill yourselves," receiving over 8,700 likes in less than a day (shown below).
On September 24th, X[8] user @deliclit tweeted a video of Katie from Goat Story, captioned, "Yall to that girl that who interrupted the Apple dance," gaining over 68,000 likes in a day (shown below).
