Google Forms With the Group Chat refers to a TikTok trend where participants, usually groups of friends or members of the same team, post results of their Google Forms survey in which they decide who is the most athletic, well-dressed, funniest, etc. member of the group. The videos are usually set to "Got to Be Real" by Cheryl Lynn and rose to prominence on the platform in late 2021.

Origin

On November 15th, TikToker^[1] @whosunderrated posted a TikTok captioned "Google forms with the group chat" in which he showed results of a Google Chat survey taken by members of his friend group. In the survey, group members voted on who was the funniest, most unfunny, most athletic, least athletic, who had "best drip," "pulled the most" and "the least," who was the best gamer and who was "the menace" of the group. The video, set to "Got To Be Real" by Cheryl Lynn, gained over 4.4 million views and 783,000 likes in one month (shown below).

Spread

Starting in late November 2021, other users started posting videos based on the idea. For example, on November 27th, 2021, TikToker^[2] @theunrealistzino posted a version that gained over 581,600 views and 77,600 likes in one month (shown below, left). On November 28th, TikToker^[3] @jvavviii posted a video that received over 775,000 views and 162,500 likes in the same period (shown below, right).

In late November and early December 2021, multiple viral versions of the meme were posted on TikTok, with captions such as "google forms with the GC," "google forms with the boys" and "google forms with the girls," among other versions. For example, a version posted by TikToker^[4] shanethecreator on November 29th, 2021, gained over 6.2 million views and 1.4 million likes in three weeks.
