Greek Will Destroy Turkey 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷 !! !! !! !! !! also known as X Will Destroy Y, refers to an exploitable template based on a TikTok screenshot of a Turkish man with a large mustache responding angrily to a pro-Greece comment. The man's name is İlhan Demirc known on TikTok as @palababaofficial and on Instagram as @palababa339. In late 2023, the screenshot was recaptioned following the phrasal template "X Will Destroy Y" additionally paired with flag emojis and double red exclamation point emojis.

Origin

On April 17th, 2023, a video was posted by TikToker^[1] @palababaofficial which responded to a comment reading, "Greek will destroy Turkey 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷 !! !! !! !! !!" Over the course of six months, the video received roughly 1.2 million plays and 144,600 likes (shown below).

Spread

Soon after, on April 20th, 2023, TikToker^[2] @misterchortles posted a photo slideshow that included a screenshot of @palababaofficial's video, gaining roughly 18,100 plays and 3,800 likes in six months. Soon after, on May 3rd, TikToker^[3] @obesegopher reposted the screenshot in a slideshow that received roughly 401,600 plays and 63,800 likes in five months.

A few months later, on July 28th, 2023, X^[4] user @2k18hoodmoments posted the screenshot, gaining roughly 20,500 likes in three months (shown below, left). Due to the post, a slew of redraws and remixes of the screenshot surfaced, such as X^[5] user @dodoriagotbands on July 28th, who referenced Super Mario, gaining roughly 14,700 likes in three months (shown below, right).

Various re-edits surfaced on X^[6] going into late July 2023. The exploitable trend resurfaced a few months later, on October 3rd, 2023, when X^[7] user @frosteeflake captioned the screenshot, "his aura is crazy," gaining roughly 4,400 likes in six days.
