Group X (or Gröûp X) is a musical group and is one of the few bands that don't need a large record label to get noticed. Internet culture spreads on its own. This Arabian Rap Sensation, as they are called, has caught the attention of numerous Flash Animators. Music and lyrics by Group X appear all over the web, in Internet talk. May have something to do with the strange spelling and pronunciation.

This is an early internet meme. The earliest Group X flash video (that I could find) is Mario Twins which was animated by LuigiPlaysBass and released in 2001 on Newgrounds.com. The video was a hit (it currently has a score of 4.05 out of 5) and started to appear on other sites like Albionblacksheep.com and Ebuamswolrd.com. It wasn't long before more flash animators started to make more flash videos out of other Group X songs. Before you know it these videos had common themes among them such as the band being stick figures and poor grammar to match the accent of the vocalists.
