Grunkle Stan The Rapist refers to an infamous work of Gravity Falls fanfiction in which the character Grunkle Stan rapes Mabel twice over the course of two chapters. Though it did not spread as widely the most infamous Gravity Falls fanfiction "Dipper Goes To Taco Bell," it is widely regarded by those who have read it as being more horrifying than that piece due to its intense amount of disturbing sexual content, depiction of pedophilia, cannibalism, and gore.

Origin

The first chapter of "Grunkle Stan The Rapist" appears to have been posted to fanfiction.net in the summer of 2012,^[1] but the original link is dead and had not been archived. It has also been posted to and removed from Pastebin.^[2] Both chapters can be read with author commentary on the Tumblr page of user rhinotaurus.^[3]^[4] There was supposedly a third chapter in which Stan rapes the character Wendy, though links to the supposed third chapter are also dead.^[5]

Spread

The story quickly became infamous within the Gravity Falls fandom for being more disturbing than "Dipper Goes To Taco Bell." One of the earliest posts comparing the two was posted August 25th, 2012 on the Tumblr account gays0nice^[6] (shown below, left). On September 11th, DeviantArt^[7] user TempestPataki wrote, "Dipper goes to taco bell, is just weird and disgusting, but grunkle stan the rapist is down right HORRIFYING."

I just finished Grunkle Stan the R----- BBC THREE DEDICATED TO JOHN PEEL WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST READ? THAT WAS HORRIFYING! Where as Dipper Goes to Taco Bell was just gross and terrible, THAT WAS HORRIFYING!! I'll get to work on that review...it should be shorter than the last one..I hope.

Another fanfiction has been completed! ..and it was worse then dipper goes to taco bell. All i want to say is WHY WRITE STUFF LIKE THAT?!?!? So basically..... The internet is out at the mystery shack and grunkle stan wants to watch p---. so he thinks about r----- mabel. and then it gets graphic. so graphic i was basically dying on the inside. And then mabel's not enjoying it one bit and is crying for the whole time. Poor, incontinent, mabel. Over the following years, the story was often cited by those in the know as being one of the worst fanfictions ever. On July 28th, 2020, Gamefaqs^[8] user Light_Dragon responded to the question "What are the worst fanfics you've ever read?" with:

There's another fanfic for Gravity Falls that I consider worse than Dipper goes to Taco Bell. I think it was called "Grunkle Stan the Rapist" where Grunkle Stan rapes Mabel, and forces her to get an abortion, then he eats the baby. He also killed Dipper and framed it on Soos, because he was questioning why Mabel wasn't her usual cheery self anymore. Grunkle Stan then drugs Wendy and also rapes her.
I'm surprised this one doesn't have as much notoriety as DGTB. It's the worst fanfic I've ever read.
