About
The "His nic is over 9000" meme began when Cody Ko and Noelle Miller made a youtube video called "THAT'S CRINGE" Vape Hotbox. The video was created to poke fun at another youtuber, known as "Matty smokes". Matty smokes posted a video of him and his friends vaping in a car, and so Noel and Cody reacted to his video on their channel. This lead to Noel making the jokes that his nicotine levels were getting too high to be over 9000, leading to the creation of the meme.
Origin
The original Matty smokes video was posted to his channel in 2018, although the video has since been deleted. Cody Ko then posted his video reacting to it with Noel Miller on September 7th 2018. The video immediately went viral due to the large following of Cody Ko and Noel Miller. This also caused Matty Smokes to gain a lot of traction as well. People started making memes and posting to twitter, spreading the "His nic is over 9000" part of the video across the internet. After the video went viral on youtube, it caused people to start posting their own reactions to Matty Smokes on twitter. Other variations were created on twitter, and as this video and meme continued to blow up, Cody Ko and Noel Miller decided to make a video with Matty Smokes.
