I Don't Like the Idea of Milhouse Having Two Spaghetti Meals In One Day refers to a series of memes referencing a scene from The Simpsons season 7 episode 6, "Treehouse of Horror VI," where Kirk Van Houten asks to see the school cafeteria menus in advance so he can adjust his dinner plans accordingly, saying he doesn't like the idea of Milhouse having two spaghetti meals in one day. The episode originally aired in October 1995 and became the subject of memes as early as 2014, including image macros, spreading over the following years.
Origin
On October 29th, 1995, The Simpsons' sixth Halloween special, "Treehouse of Horror VI," aired. In one scene from the episode, Kirk Van Houten asks Principal Skinner if he can see the cafeteria menus in advance so he can plan his dinners accordingly to make sure Milhouse doesn't have two spaghetti meals in one day (shown below).
"I, for one, would like to see the cafeteria menus in advance so parents can adjust their dinner menus accordingly. I don't like the idea of Milhouse having two spaghetti meals in one day."
On February 27th, 2014, Redditor u/Houdin13 posted a screenshot from the episode to /r/TheSimpsons[1] showing Kirk holding up two fingers along with the quote, garnering over 2,100 upvotes in nine years (shown below, left). The same quote was reposted to the /r/TheSimpsons[2][3][4] subreddit with the same or similar images numerous times between then and August 2019. On August 13th, 2019, Redditor u/WhatsaGime posted an image macro referencing the scene to /r/simpsonsshitposting,[5] garnering over 100 upvotes in four years (shown below, right).

The scene became the increasing subject of memes over the following years. On October 10th, 2020, u/historyfails posted a version of the meme to /r/simpsonsshitposting[6] that gained over 1,700 upvotes in three years (shown below, left). On February 4th, 2021, Instagram[7] user simpsons_meme_factory posted a meme referencing the scene that gained over 3,900 likes in two years (shown below, right).
On November 19th, 2022, Facebook[8] user Simpsons Memes posted a meme referencing the scene that gained over 1,300 reactions and 95 shares in a year (shown below). On January 15th, 2023, Instragram[9] user rockbottom.ig posted a meme that gained over 1,300 likes in nine months.
