"I guide others to a treasure I cannot possess" is a quote from the 2018 film Avengers: Infinity War. It is frequently used as a catchphrase and reaction image.

Origin

In the film, Thanos (Josh Brolin) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana) travels to the planet of Vormir, seeking the Soul Stone. Red Skull (Ross Marquand), the keeper of the stone, meets them and explains to them how he came to guard the stone. In the clip below, he says the line at 0:42.

Thanos: "How is it you know this place so well?"
Red Skull: "A lifetime ago, I too sought the stones. I even held one in my hand. But it cast me out, banished me here, guiding others to a treasure I cannot possess."
