About

I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson is a comedy series created by former Saturday Night Live writer and Detroiters star Tim Robinson. The show debuted on Netflix on April 23rd, 2019 and received high critical praise and a significant fandom on Twitter.

History

I Think You Should Leave debuted on Netflix on April 23rd, 2019.[1] The show's six episodes run between fifteen and twenty minutes and feature sketches written by Zach Kanin, Tim Robinson, and John Solomon. Robinson also stars in the majority of the sketches. The show features myriad cameos from major names, including Vanessa Beyer, Andy Samberg, Tim Heidecker, Fred Willard, and more.

Reception

The show was extremely well-reviewed, receiving a Rotten Tomatoes[2] score of 90. Fran Hoepfner of Vulture called the show "comedic perfection,"[3] praising the show for its surprisingly absurd premises which reveal themselves slowly over the course of sketches, a compliment which Mashable[4] echoed. Others like Daily Dot[1] were more mixed, pointing out that the show's "heightening sometimes leads to Robinson screaming, often about poop, neither of which necessarily add to the comedy."

Online Presence

Netflix has posted several sketches of the show to YouTube, including Will Forte's "The Man" (shown below, left) and Vanessa Bayer's "Instagram" sketch (shown below, right).

On Twitter, moments from the show have been celebrated in no-context screenshots and memes. A no-context account for the show has gained over 2,600 followers.[5] One sketch about a car focus group has proven particularly popular, thanks to an absurd old man in the group who shows up the other members (shown below).

User @TheAmitie posted an AOC's Boyfriend joke with the man, gaining over 40 likes (shown below, left). User @PattyMo tweeted an image of the man photoshopped into the Game of Thrones Coffee Cup Goof, gaining over 200 retweets and 2,700 likes (shown below, right).

Dolphin Pilot, LCSW @TheAmitie Follow apologies for the blatantly mean tweet but THIS is what AOC's boyfriend looks like? incredible scenes, truly representing all the ambitious and stunning millenial women shackled to boyfriends who look like bin raccoons out there Oh, my God, he admit it! 3:35 PM-3 May 2019
