I'm Not In Danger. I Am the Danger refers to a catchphrase said by Walter White from Breaking Bad when Skyler suggested he go to the police to get protection. The scene grew popular online as a reaction image, redraw reference and source for remixes.

Origin

On August 21st, 2011, Season 4, Episode 6 of Breaking Bad, titled "Cornered," premiered in the US.^[1] In the episode, Skyler reads Gale Boetticher's case while listening to White's voicemail message. Later she suggests Walter go to the police to get protection and admit that he's in danger, but White rejects it and replies that he is the danger (scene shown below).

In the year's since the episode aired, the scene grew popular online and has been the subject of various edits. For example, on March 20th, 2021, YouTube^[2] user unicorn uploaded a Content Aware Scaling edit using the scene. The video received more than 5.2 million views in two years (shown below).

On September 13th, 2022, YouTube^[3] user Logan Weber uploaded the scene with the sound changed to Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The video received more than 975,000 views in one year (shown below, left). On May 23rd, 2023, YouTube^[4] user yo chill bruh uploaded an edit by combining the scene with I Am a Surgeon, Dr. Han edit that received more than 661,000 views in six months (shown below, right).

On October 6th, 2022, Reddit^[5] user randomdude123502 uploaded a spoiler of Subnautica using the catchphrase as the title to the /r/subnautica subreddit. The post received more than 1,200 upvotes in one year (shown below, left). On May 9th, 2023, Reddit^[6] user Mr_Ezketcher uploaded Team Fortress 2 fan art by using the scene as a reference to the /r/tf2 subreddit. The post received more than 4,100 upvotes in seven months (shown below, right).
