I'm The One Clothing Swaps refers to a series of TikTok videos in which friends or significant others swap clothing and lipsync Mozzy and Iamsu!'s 2018 song "Famous (I'm The One)."[2] The trend which began in early July, became widely popular on the platform in late July following Dixie D'Amelio's use of the trend.

Origin

On July 9th, 2020, TikToker mayabebe uploaded the first clothing swap variation of the lipsync videos featuring TikToker @_masonlee and the sound clip "Famous (I'm the One) – Mozzy & IAMSU!" (shown below). The video garnered over 828,800 likes in 17 days.

Spread

On July 16th, 2020, Dixie D’Amelio posted a popular variation with @imgriffinjohnson that accumulated over 8.4 million likes in 10 days (shown below, center). The next day, TikToker sherinicolee uploaded a clothing swap video with TikToker montyjlopez and received over 4.9 million likes in nine days (shown below, center). On July 21st, Addison Rae uploaded an example with @brycehall and acquired over 6.8 million likes in six days (shown below, right). StayHipp[1] published an article on the trend.
