About

Invest Button is a reaction image depicting Canadian businessman and TV personality Robert Herjavec overlaid on the top of the blue Nut Button edited to have the word “INVEST” on it. Typically, the image is used as a reaction to an above caption, screenshot or image that interests the meme’s creator, prompting them to invest, especially with outlandish or hypothetical products. The format was primarily popularized on Reddit and Twitter.

Origin

The original image borrows the format of the Nut Button meme, using the same blue button with text overlaid on top of it and a double exposure surrounding the photo. In this variant, the button has the word “INVEST” on it with two photos of Robert Herjavec from Shark Tank on either side. The earliest known meme using the reaction image was uploaded by Redditor[1] BaldBeard76 to the /r/MemeEconomy subreddit on April 6th, 2017. The meme (seen below) received nearly 300 upvotes.

On April 17th, 2019, Twitter[3] user BertieBanz was seen using the image in a reply as a simple reaction to an above tweet that said “lunch cabinet.”
