Israel vs. Palestine TikTok LIVE Battles Trend refers to a TikTok LIVE trend where two users, one representing Israel and one representing Palestine in relation to the 2023 Hamas vs. Israel conflict, use TikTok's "battle" feature to see which side receives more monetary support from viewers via gifts. Prior to this, the same trend became popularized in relation to the 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine. The "Israel vs. Palestine" videos were popularized in October 2023 and became the subject of criticism that month, facing accusations of grifting and exploiting the war for monetary gain.
Origin
In July and August 2023, clips from TikTok LIVE battle videos where two users, one representing Ukraine and one representing Russia, fight to see which side can win via monetary donations, were uploaded to the app by TikTokers[1][2] including @buidung28 and @thefence100, garnering over 115,000 and 45,000 views respectively in three months (shown below).

On October 14th, 2023, TikToker[3] @_kaga.n24 posted a clip from a similar TikTok LIVE stream where two users representing Israel and Palestine battle, writing, "tiktok livestreams are crazy 😭" garnering around 200 likes in two weeks (shown below).

On October 15th, 2023, TikToker[4] @all.right.are.reserved posted a clip from what appears to be the same live stream, garnering over 3,800 views in two weeks (shown below, left). On October 22nd, TikToker[5] @jrbaldwiniv posted a similar video of two other users doing the same type of battle, garnering over 24,000 views in three days (shown below, right).

On October 24th, TikToker[6] @tofology posted a video sharing several clips of the battles and criticizing the battlers for attempting to profit off of the war, garnering over 26,400 views in a day (shown below). She also uploaded the video to X,[7] writing, "Profiting off the deaths of thousands in a live TikTok game is some next level grifting," garnering over 220 likes in a day. Later that day, X[8] user @ChudsOfTikTok reposted the video, writing, "New worst tiktok trend just dropped," garnering over 460 likes in a day.
