Another 20 Trillion to Israel refers to a catchphrase and meme typically used alongside a viral fan art drawing of Patrick Star playing basketball paired with the caption "Another 20 trillion to Israel." The image was initially posted on Twitter / X in November 2021 as part of a commissioned request inspired by the Wade-LeBron's Dunk Picture. In 2023, the fan art started to be paired with the "Another 20 trillion to Israel" phrase and used as an ironic reaction meme on X and Reddit towards any content related to the Hamas-Israel conflict, specifically referring to aid being sent to Israel.

Origin

On November 17th, 2021, X^[1] user @Ataxophilia shared a commissioned drawing featuring SpongeBob SquarePants recreating the Wade-LeBron Dunk picture. The post (seen below, left) received more than 2,400 likes and 720 reposts in three years.

On February 6th, 2023, Reddior @MusicManiac51^[2] posted one of the earliest known uses of Patrick's fan art paired with the caption "Another 20 trillion to Israel" (seen below, right), which amassed roughly 37 upvotes in a year.

Spread

The "Another 20 trillion to Israel" meme was popularized as a reaction meme on X, Reddit and iFunny throughout 2023 and 2024. For example, on April 23rd, 2024, X^[3] user @KamitronPTW used the meme to mock American professional wrestler The Miz for purportedly^[4] signing a pro-Israel letter in December 2023. The post (shown below, left) garnered over 3,600 likes and 260 reposts in a month.

The meme also sparked parodies from other fandoms, like Redditor^[5] Overall_blank28's version of the image macro featuring Team Fortress 2 characters (shown below, right), which received roughly 10 upvotes since it was posted on November 15th, 2023.
