It's No Use is an iconic line said by Silver the Hedgehog during a boss fight in the video game Sonic '06. The phrase was popularized by the Game Grumps Let's Play of the game after they struggled to defeat Silver, punctuated by the Hedgehog exclaiming "It's no use!" repeatedly.

Origin

In Sonic '06, the player must defeat Silver in an early boss fight in the game. If the player messes up the timing, Silver will freeze Sonic and throw him away, shouting "It's no use… Take this!" (seen below).

The phrase began growing popular within the Game Grumps fandom after the pair played Sonic '06. The boss battle can be seen in part 7 of Game Grumps' (JonTron and Egoraptor's) playthrough of the game (shown below, left). Notably, in a portion of the boss fight, Jon gets stuck in a seemingly endless loop of being trapped by Silver, tossed away, and picking up one coin to allow the process to continue. Later in the game, Arin plays the same boss fight from Silver's perspective, causing him to relish the revenge and shout "It's no use! It's no f--king use!" (shown below, right).

The scenes caused Silver's line to trend within the Game Grumps fandom. In June 2013, YouTuber Fan CatFat animated the Silver boss fight of Game Grumps and has garnered 1.7 million views (shown below, left). On April 13th, 2013, YouTuber crazyhalo uploaded a Source Filmmaker animation of Arin's revenge, gaining over 522,000 views (shown below, right).
