It's Only Been 18 Days and We Have 4 Great Memes Already refers to a series of memes parodying a January 2018 post celebrating four popular meme formats that month, Logan Paul's Suicide Forest, Ugandan Knuckles, Somebody Toucha My Spaghet and Tide POD Challenge. The meme has been posted out of context and parodied since 2022 using the original caption as a catchphrase.
Origin
The meme format parodies an unidentified social media post made on January 18th, 2018, likely originally posted on Reddit. The original post (shown below) celebrates four memes popular in January 2018: Logan Paul Suicide Forest (top left), Ugandan Knuckles (top right), Somebody Toucha My Spahget (bottom left) and Tide POD Challenge (bottom right).
The earliest found repost of the image was made by iFunny[2] user Snoobie on January 24th, 2022. On February 7th, iFunny[3] user JohnnyTesticles made another repost, gaining over 740 smiles on the platform in two years.
Spread
On June 3rd, 2022, X[3] / Twitter user @girlfailyuri reposted the image, with the post garnering over 2,000 reposts and 26,000 likes in two years. Later that day, X[4] user @waywebsurf quoted the post, writing, "meme community was really letting some mid ass shit fly back in 2018." The post garnered over 70 reposts and 2,500 likes in the same period (shown below).
On January 3rd, 2023, X[5] user @PurpleIso_ made the earliest parody of the post, replacing the images with panels of the Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny meme (shown below, left). The post received over 60 reposts and 320 likes in one year. On January 18th, X[6] user @ToxinTaker made a post featuring four meme formats popular in late 2022 and early 2023, gaining over 13,00 reposts and 12,000 likes in a similar timeframe (shown below, right).
More memes based on the format appeared through 2023 and early 2024, while the original post continued to be reposted out-of-context.
