About

Jessica Did You Sleep With Your Teacher refers to a viral sketch in which a woman is filming herself singing "Low" by Flo Rida when her mom bursts in and accuses her of sleeping with her teacher, Mr. Wilson. After a tense exchange in which the mom kicks the girl out of the house, she resumes singing the song while in tears. The clip has been parodied in various animations on YouTube.

Origin

On January 10th, 2019, Instagram user RonnieMillerComedy posted an improvised sketch in which she sings a few lines of Flo Rida's "Low" when an actress playing her mom bursts in and accuses her character "Jessica" of sleeping with her teacher. Eventually "Jessica" admits to it and the "mom" says she's kicking Jessica out of the house before "Jessica" returns to the camera and continues singing. The video gained over 910,000 views on Instagram.[1]

Spread

The video began growing popular in the summer of 2019 after several popular reposts and edits appeared on YouTube. On July 7th, 2019, YouTuber luk6amv reposted the video, gaining over 200,000 views (shown below, left). The following day, YouTuber I have memes, you wanna see them? reposted the video to YouTube, gaining over 7 million views (shown below, right). From there, the video gained much more attention, appearing in several subreddits including /r/unexpected[2] and /r/funny.[3]
