In his posts, Titor claimed to be a military time traveler from 2036, who traveled back in time using a time machine located in Tampa, Florida. His mission was to go to the year 1975 to gather an IBM 5100 computer, but he had made a stop over in 2000 to collect pictures of his family. Titor acknowledged that there may be multiple timelines for future events, and that his future may diverge from our own, but warned against an impending United States civil war over "order and rights."
