We Live In Bergen County 9h- I just had a very disturbing and completely appalling experience at the new Turning Point restaurant in Paramus on Route 4. My husband and I were in the area yesterday and saw the new place and decided we'd try it this morning with our daughter. After our breakfast, we got our check and gave a $100 bill to one of the wait staff (who wasn't our original server). Our bill was $44.16 and we received $55 back (NO CHANGE of 84 cents!). Although the bill says we were given the change of $55.84 - we were MOST definitely not, hence the reason for questioning the manager. We thought there was a mistake and questioned the supposed manager, a very tall gentleman, and were informed that they ROUND UP their bills because they do not carry any change in the restaurant and the extra goes to the waitress as part of the tip. REALLY?? Please note, the server's name on our bill was most accommodating and was NOT the server who rounded up our bill. Well, I just called corporate and was told that is NOT the case and that they should not be rounding up ANY bills!! I am furious!! We normally tip way more than normal anyway, but I cannot even imagine how many bills are being rounded during the course of a day and there are NO signs posted anywhere indicating this is the policy. If we would have paid by the phone scan, we would have been charged an extra 2% of the bill, SOOO what was the 84 cents accomplishing - are they penalizing us for paying in cash as it is? Just think of just a mere 100 tables being assessed this rounding up because they "don't have change" - they're adding at least a few hundred dollars to their bottom line before anyone tips!! If any of you have experienced this, call corporate and let them know - (732) 676-9785. The woman at corporate was very apologetic and was going to forward my issue to a regional person to discuss further (if that accomplishes anything.)

However, there is a stereotype on Reddit that all Facebook moms are karens. Karens are portrayed as middle-aged women who are often racist, entitled, and abusive. The purpose of this research is to see if there is any truth in the allegation by conducting a qualitative study on Reddit and Facebook posts. The analysis includes 120 posts made by English-speaking mothers in six different Facebook groups and 120 posts on six different subreddits. The identity theories proposed by Burke and Stets as well as and Benwell and Stokoe, along with Bell's audience-design theory. They are used to analyze the data. The result of this study suggests that Reddit's stereotype of Facebook moms is mainly false. In fact, facebook moms' groups are often useful for themselves and others.
