About
Korra the Milk Bender refers to a fetish fan art of Korra from The Legend of Korra animated series manipulating her own breast milk with her waterbending abilities. The image achieved virality as a cursed image and a mild form of shock content in April 2024 after Korra was added to the battle royale video game Fortnite.
Origin
On January 5th, 2016, DeviantArt[1] user mangrowing posted fetish art of The Legend of Korra character Korra, a waterbender, bending streams of her own breast milk coming out of her inflated breasts. The art (censored version below) accumulated over 86,600 views and 2,300 favorites on DeviantArt in eight years.
Spread
Prior to 2024, the image saw limited use as shock content and source material for memes. For example, on January 6th, 2021, an unknown X[2] / Twitter user posted the image with the caption, "aoc when they send her out as a weapon of last resort," with the post gaining over 40 reposts and 210 likes prior to removal (shown below, left).
On October 27th, 2021, X[3] user @javrawr posted the image, with the post garnering over 150 likes prior to removal. On the same day, X[4] user @TheyLuvGlocky quoted the post with a humorous caption, with the reply garnering over 550 reposts and 5,400 likes in three years (shown below, right).
The image started to get more traction in early March 2024 after information about an upcoming collaboration between Fortnite and Avatar including a Korra skin, leaked online.[5]
On March 8th, 2024, X[6] user @GrizzlyBrew_ posted the image with the caption "fortnite," with the post gaining over 60 reposts and 390 likes in one month (shown below, left).
In late March and early April 2024, the fetish artwork was widely circulated online as a cursed image and a mild form of shock content.
On April 6th, X[7] user @tiredshiba_ posted images of Korra in Fortnite with milk-themed items Cereal Spiller and Lac-Pack equipped. The post (shown below, center) gained over 1,100 reposts and 13,000 likes in five days. On the same day, X[8] user @denial_denali replied with a Leave Me Alone meme about the image (shown below, right), with the reply garnering over 50 reposts and 630 likes in five days.
On April 6th, 2024, the gimmick account @milkbending was created on X[9] / Twitter, gaining over 1,000 followers in five days and contributing to the spread of the meme.
